How do I join DAR?
Any woman 18 years or older who can provide lineal, bloodline descent from an ancestor who aided in achieving American Independence is eligible to join the DAR. She must provide documentation for each statement of birth, marriage and death, as well as of the Revolutionary War service of her Patriot ancestor. DAR volunteers in our chapter and throughout the state can provide guidance and assistance with the application process. You are not alone, there is plenty of help available.
Steps to becoming a member include:
- tracing your family lineage
- identifying your patriot ancestor
- locating a DAR chapter
- completing the application process
The Genealogical Research System (GRS) on the DAR website gives you access to valuable resources which will aid you in your genealogical search and path to DAR membership.
